Nicolas Murphy for the Cork Hurling Team ?.

What is the possibility of Nicolas Murphy getting the call up from Denis Walsh , A number a permutations have been tested by rotating the full forward position between Michael Cussen and Setanta O’Halpin , so far , both players have given some fine individual displays. Last evening Murphy was placed in the full forward position for the football match against Galway in Pairc ui Rinn , I believe some of the hurling selectors took note of his impressive performance, Nicolas Murphy is also an accomplished hurler, I welcome any views about the merits of a Cork hurling full forward line of Setana , Nicolas, and Michael.

Cork Footballers Defeat Derry.
Derry 0 – 14 V Cork 2 – 9
Cork had a slender victory over Derry last night at Celtic, 2 goals early in the first half contributed to their cause, A penalty from John Hayes and another Fintan Gould. Derry refused to yield and by the break they were just 3 points adrift 2 – 05 to 0 – 08 , 3 points from the boot of Paddy Bradley,
Cork managed only 4 points in the second half , but for the inaccurate shooting of the Derry forwards , 10 wides in the second period, they would be deserving winnners, Cork were restricted to the 4 points in this period and just managed to hold on.
